South Tyneside International Magic Festival 2016

The 13th South Tyneside International Magic Festival Convention returns Friday 11 - Sunday 13 March 2016 with another amazing line-up.

Taking place over three days at The Customs House, a stunning venue at the heart of South Shields and overlooking the bustling River Tyne, the convention features a mix of lectures, seminars and shows.

Tickets are priced at just £65 per person and includes all lectures, close up sessions and two gala shows. You can also gain access to the exclusive late night show on the Friday evening at the nearby Sea Hotel.

The South Tyneside International Magic Festival is sponsored by Magic Box and supported by BBC Newcastle and The Customs House.

Family Magic Extravaganza 9th March

The 13th South Tyneside International Magic Festival has another amazing line up with something to appeal to all.


Alana is considered today's female shooting star among magicians, with her elegant and exciting performances.

She was the first woman to achieve the prestigious title German Champion of Magic at the German Grand Prix 2011 and is quickly becoming one of the most talented and magical artist around.

   John Archer

He is a comedian, writer and all round nice guy and it shows in his act.

A past winner of the 'Magic Circle Stage Magician of the Year'. One of the best comedy magicians in the UK today and the first man to fool Penn and Teller.

   Danny Buckler

A magician crossed with a comedian and all things in between, Danny is one of Great Britain's fastest rising stars of comedy and magic.

He's also stared in his own comedy special for channel 4, Danny Does Tricks.

   Phil Butler

As soon as Phil joined the UK comedy circuit, he found himself closing the show at all the major comedy clubs such as Jongleurs, Highlight, The Comedy Store, The Glee Club, to name but a few.

Phil has also had the great honour of performing for our British troops.

   John Carney

Carney is widely acknowledged by his peers as one of the finest sleight of hand performers in the world, with awards and accolades worldwide.

He is a tireless creator of original material and has shared many of his ideasand techniques in several books and videos.

   Peter Clifford

Peter appears as a magician all over the world, performing strolling close-up magic at weddings, corporate events and in restaurants. He also creates magical shows for small theatres.

"Peter Clifford is one of my favorite magicians and one of the loveliest people I know" Derren Brown.

   Andi Gladwin

Andi specializes in card magic, and has released two highly regarded instructional DVD sets on areas he is an expert at: the multiple selection and the multiple pushoff.

His Master Pushoff DVD is an international best seller. A favorite from last year bringing us a brand new lecture.

   Will Houstoun

The Magic Circle's Close-up Magician of the Year, Dr Will Houstoun, has just completed his PhD in Victorian Conjuring and is back with a new lecture based around his recently release DVD set, Modern Magic.

Will has also acted as a consultant for film and advertising.

   Chad Long

Chad has performed and lectured all over the world and his material has been widely published.

Chads delivery is fast paced and combined with humour brings an enjoyable experience to all.

   Paul Megram

Voted UK Children's entertainer of the Year and member of The Magic Circle Colonel Custard has been entertaining children for over a decade with his unique blend of fun-filled magical mayhem.

Paul offers a whole host of exciting activities catering for all ages from tots to teens.

   Men in Coats

Men In Coats has a unique appeal and leapt onto the British Stand up Circuit in 1999 by winning Hackney Empire's New Act of the Year and an almost unheard of sell out in their first Edinburgh run.

The show has travelled worldwide and performed in some of the biggest and most prestigious venues on the globe.

   Malin Nilsson

Malin is one of Sweden's foremost magical entertainers and has specialized in shows for adults. She is known for her variety inspired style and her cool way of performing classical magic tricks.

She is confident and charming, and the hilarious lines comes fast when she works with the audience.


He is an award winning magician, inventor, comedian, illusionist and world traveler. Magic and clowning inspired him at a very early age, setting up his first show at the age of 6.

He is a true master in hilarious improvisations, with an awesome sense for originality, humor and imagination.

   Steve Rawlings

Steve brings an audience to life with his unique blend of comedy, and technical ability.

His routines involve Ping-Pong ball juggling with his mouth and a combination of balancing bottles and glasses while juggling blazing fire torches simultaneously.

   Michael Vincent

There are very few magicians who possess the magical combination of sleight of hand and great theatrical presentation, Michael Vincent is one of the chosen few.

Over the last twenty years, Michael has earned the reputation of being among the top magicians and sleight of hand artist in the world.

   R Paul Wilson

The former star of BBC's hit show "The Real Hustle" now works in the film industry but continues to pursue his love of magic and sleight of hand, performing for clients all over the world.
