- Good effect, poor card finish.

This effect is brilliant; one of the most powerful mentalism pieces I've ever come across. However- the quality of this deck is surprisingly bad. The deck requires a virtually perfect spread, which is near impossible to do with this finish. But this is the deck's only flaw. Many different routines, styles and performances can be achieved by this ingenious (albeit simple) design. Audience reaction is phenomenal, especially with expert handling like Derren Brown's 'Smoke'. Overall, good trick, but if you're not bothered about the deck being bicycle, I recommend buying the original non-bike version.Review by Ben (Posted on 03/08/2011)
- Great effect, but does require some psychological misdirection...

The Mind Power deck from John Kennedy is a great little effect which can be astounding provided it is presented in the correct way. It's probably most popular for its use by Derren Brown in his 'Smoke' routine, preformed on TV for a perplexed Stephen Fry.Review by Chris Stacey (Posted on 17/05/2011)
Although the effect is good you will need to 'direct' the spectator somewhat. Having said that, a simple bit of psychological misdirection shouldn't be too hard for the budding mentalist.
The cards themselves are on Bicycle stock and look great, but the finish on them is slightly rough and doesn't have an 'air cushion' quality (for the effect you'll need to fan/ribbon spread them), hence why I've only awarded three stars. I haven't tried it myself, but they may benefit from a sprinkling of fanning powder.
With a bit of practice you can work wonders with these - good luck!
