Portal

A visual teleportation of a selected card from one hand to the other. The effect combines a rhythmic display of cardistry and magic.

Osh Negash B'gosh

Imagine a card selected by being propelled through mid-air and caught between two mates. The card is noted and the packet placed on the table. Another selection is openly made and instantly changes into the first selection. When the sandwiched card on the table is turned over by the spectator, they find it to be the second selection. An extremely powerful table-hopping effect!

Encore

Perhaps the most direct handling of Dr. Daley’s Last Trick ever devised. The method here is far more devious than any previous version of this effect. Two red Aces are cleanly set on one spectators palm while the two black Aces are set on another spectators palm. With a snap they instantly transpose and the spectators can turn them over.

Hedberg All Over

A variation of Hedbergs Peak, this multi-phased routine demonstrates the transposition of two playing cards throughout the deck with each transposition becoming more impossible looking. On the final phase one of the cards is placed between the spectators’ hands and the transposition is carried on.

Flic

Maybe the easiest boomerang card technique you will ever learn. This age old method allows you to “flick” a card 10 feet away from you only to have it return to your hand.

Flirt

Don’t blink! You’ll miss the fastest flourish ever invented.

M4 Hollywood

In this variation of Molecule 4 packets rotate, twist, and spin around each other demonstrating a chaotic but orchestrated rhythm or Cardistry.

Goat

A card is placed protruding face up in the deck. With the snap of the fingers the card instantly changes. The change can be done completely surrounded and you end clean with nothing but the changed card sticking out from the deck.

Shepherd Change

A card is placed protruding face up in the deck. On spinning it around it appears to morph into another card. You’re left clean with only the changed card sticking out from the deck.

Orbit

This unique technique for propelling a double from one hand to the other will attract attention from across the room. Use it as a double lift or a flourish.

Ginastaire

A flashy technique for spinning two cards as one on the back of your thumbs' knuckle. Can also be used as a flourish.

Spinning Top

Mimicking the action of one of the oldest recognized toys in history called a “top”. This double lift allows you to spin the cards on the deck or on a table in a fast motion while keeping them aligned.

Jones Change Variation

Refined with flare that only the Bucks could exude. This is an underground gem finally revealed that allows you to show your hand empty (with one card) before and after the change has been made.

Smoother

This impromptu technique allows you to rid the rough and uneven edges on most decks of cards.

Manfred Shuffle

A unique approach to the in-the-hands false riffle shuffle that borrows ideas from Ron Whol and Hank Miller. This method, however, puts the deck in full order without the need for a cut.

Simpler Switch

This sleight can be used as a one-for-one switch or a color change. The switch happens in-flight and the card appears to be in view the entire time.

2 Handed Pirouette

You all know the classic Pirouette flourish. Now learn this really cool application that's surprisingly very simple.

Dr 90210

An updated handling of the Spin Doctor Double.

Hover Spring & Autocatch

The magician displays a solid blade and a playing card, both of which may be freely examined both before and after the effect. The card is wrapped around the middle finger, which is positioned over the blade. The magician slams his hand down and screams, the whole audience jump back 3 paces as the blade plunges right through the finger and the card.

The spectator selects a card.  You then proceed to rip out the center of the card.  The spectaor writes their initials on the center piece and keeps it as a reciept.

You then borrow a wine or champagne glass from your spectator and proceed to slam the card against the glass.  The card visually links onto the stem of the glass!!!  The spectators see the card spinning around.

The deck is shuffled face up into face down and the spectator THINKS of one card. The whole deck now turns face down except for their selection!

BURN
A card is selected and placed onto the spectator’s hand. Suddenly their hands are now stuck together and slowly heat up. When they open their palms, the selected card is now seen to have a burn mark on it. A superb update on the old ash trick.

TRIPLE WHACK
Three cards are freely selected by three people. The cards are dealt onto the table for the spectators to slam their hands onto their cards when they see them. All spectators chose the same card! This card (signed) instantly vanishes and appears on the ceiling above them... Stunning magic!!!

2 COLOR SEPERATION
A card is selected and shuffled into the deck. The cards are shown face up by the magician and cut into two piles. What the heck are Fidh Lan Sticks?

Well, basically it is a method of doing readings that uses 4 small sticks.

Why do we get SO excited about these silly sticks? Well, lots of reasons. They are VISUAL, they are interesting to look at. Very vew people have ever seen them, so unlike Tarot and Palmistry where people may decide to argue with you about meanings, with Fidh Lan YOU are the expert right away!

Each stick has a single spot on one side, and the opposite side has two spots. When the sticks are laid down one above the other, they can form 1 of 16 patterns.

Each pattern is a simple pictograph that represents something. From this, the reading grows. Some of the things that make Fidh Lan SO awesome is that it is small, light weight, visible, easy to learn, easy to understand, few of your clients will have seen or heard of it before so there are no pre-conceived ideas or fears as with Palms or Tarot.

On the DVD rom portion of the DVD, we decided to include a PITCH BOOK which you may print up and sell and use for Back Of Room Sales! This is an awesome money making bonus for those who do psychic house parties, and the sticks are unusual enough that many will want to learn more about them.

Tarot cards are harder to learn, and some people can be downright scared of them- not good for all clients. Palm reading is more complex, and can be tricky for the first time reader, and in some situations might be too intimate. Fidh Lan, a simplified form of Geomancy, is easy to learn, looks like nothing they have seen before and by its nature looks kind of magical and different.

The sticks can also be "themed" to fit a variety of different kinds of events. They can become Wizard sticks, Witch Lots, Fairy Twigs and many other things. The basic method can be adapted to reading shells, coins, dirt- or even done with a pad and paper.

Four professional mentalism effects which ultimately end with the same effect: at anytime the performer chooses he can invisibly switch on or off any standard, plasma or LCD TV screen.

Here are details of the first effect: The mentalist is concluding his performance in a bar and offers to show one last ‘extraordinary moment’. Several spectators look around the room and write down on napkins (or business cards, or whatever) the names of random objects they can see: drink, bottle, pool table, window, TV, fan, bartender, etc. One spectator is nominated and he chooses a napkin. He presses down on the napkin while the performer simply passes his hand above. The spectator exclaims that he can feel a ‘strange tingling sensation’ in his hand. Immediately he says this, the TV screen switches straight off. Anybody who looks across at the performer at this point would see that his hands are empty. The spectator turns over the napkin and it bears a single word: Television.

The fourth effect plays like this: After he finishes his set, the performer says that the spectators can now have some further entertainment, albeit of a less magical nature. He takes out his business card, hands it to someone and asks them to draw a remote control on the back of it. After this is done he directs them to point it at a nearby TV and press the ‘ON’ button. When they do, the TV turns on! This is one business card they will keep...

Choices Have Consequences - A Bank Night effect with meaning, three envelopes are presented to two spectators yet the performer is left with the big prize. Nevertheless, the performer is also forced to learn that choices do, indeed, have consequences. No gimmicks, no forces - just a fun routine that can be performed anywhere.

Second Spot - Barrie's version of Fogel's classic psychometry routine is performed in the context of the amazing story of the Uruguayan athletes who survived a plane crash in the Andes Mountains. Mesmer's Pencil - A demonstration of "animal magnetism." A pencil resting on the performer's hand rises as a female audience member draws near. She then discovers, after the performer suggests that the pencil is now very heavy, that she cannot lift it. After she changes the image in her mind, the pencil becomes light again and it is given to her as a souvenir. This routine has been used by some of the most distinguished mentalists in the world.

Dollar Divination - The performer demonstrates his ability to determine six of the serial numbers from any borrowed bill with only his fingertips. He then has one spectator mentally transmit the last two digits to another with total accuracy. Versatile for close-up or stage.

Angel's Flight - Even though the performer is at quite some distance, he reveals the playing cards the audience members are thinking of. Finally, the entire audience, using their collective imagination, divines the number of cards that were previously hidden away. A wonderful mystery wrapped in a true story that also utilizes a totally novel - and very deceptive - deck switch!

Thoughts with Wings - A newspaper section is torn into small pieces by a spectator, who then selects a single piece. She is then asked to mentally select a single word from the page and with absolutely no questions asked, the performer correctly reveals the chosen word.
