Eight blank faced playing cards are shown, four are placed face up and four are placed face down. You patter on about a competition held between a gambler and a magician. An ace of hearts is introduced and it is said that the idea of the competition is to see what you can do with four blank cards and an ace. You then perform the following effects which fit nicely in with the patter. The magician went first turning his hand into four matching aces. The gambler then bettered him by turning his hand into four different aces. Commenting that at a poker game a duplicate card would get you shot. The magician answered by transforming his hand into the royal flush stating, 'Where I come from the royal flush beats the four aces any day.' Thus winning the game. A great routine with some great patter.
